I was approached by Google to create a doodle celebrating St. Patrick’s Day 2021. The artwork features symbols that represent Ireland's diverse geography, architecture, and history. The first icon signifies the country’s verdant mountains, forests, and coastal lighthouses, many of which stand near popular walking and swimming sites. The imagery in the first "o" is a nod to the hands and heart of the legendary Claddagh ring, a symbol of love, loyalty, and friendship. The second "o" incorporates a vase holding Irish wildflowers—spring squill and crocuses—as well as a three-leafed clover, an iconic state emblem of Ireland that represents faith, hope, and love.
A depiction of the numerous rivers that run through many Irish towns and cities replaces the “g” as the “l” stands for Ireland’s natural woodlands, much of which are being restored thanks to new state reforestation initiatives. Finally, the "e" is replaced by a Celtic knot, a symbol of Irish hope in the infinite interconnectedness of humanity.

Longitude is an annual music festival that takes place in Marlay Park, Dublin. The festival is primarily aimed at 16 - mid 20 year olds. In recent years the event has leaned more towards showcasing Hip Hop & Grunge artists. To reflect this change, the visual identity needed to transform to reflect the performers and the tastes of the concert-goers. Previously the visual identity style had taken inspiration from nature and depicted a more organic and chilled summer event.
The new identity utilisies flat clean geometric shapes as a flexible base to convey a more dynamic, youthful and energetic event.
By The Way is a new, digital travel initiative from the Washington Post. They have created city guides and other content from writers that live in cities around the world, so readers feel like a local wherever they go.
The guides skip all the tourist spots and cut right to off-the-beaten-path, local favorites. They utilise photographers and illustrators in each city to further drive home the “hometown” feel and contacted me to typographically represent Dublin.
You can view the full Dublin guide here.
Glass Wall Productions was set up in 2018 by Carly Dowd and Carrie Harding. They set it up because of their innate love for theatre and film. Why Glass Wall? Because they wanted to share their unique process of creating characters and for the audience to feel as though they are watching a real situation unfolding.
A glass wall allows the viewer to both be separate and fully take in the performance. The spotlight shape of the logo is used to convey connecting & focus whilst hinting at the vibrancy of the many characters and performances on display.

Byrne & O’Brien is a start-up catering and fine wine business, which is preparing to launch in January 2019. I was approached by Byrne & O’Brien to create a visual identity unique to the catering business and was flexible across a wide range of printed and digital collateral. From the beginning they liked the idea of both their surnames combining to form a monogram.
The monogram is a combination of the owners’ names B, O’B and &, with the swash of the ampersand forming a server’s hand.
While stage 1 of this project is complete, I am currently working on developing a larger range of items for Byrne & O’Brien, such as bannerstands, brochures, full collection of menus, social media materials, website visuals, uniforms, illustration development and advertisements.
Created for both a study planner in the education supplement of the Irish Times and in the ‘goodie bag’ each student attending Higher Options receives.
The aim was to focus on and promote IT Sligo as a ‘destination’ educational institution and draw attention to its vibrant student life, and how it offers more than any other educational organisation. The message here is for students to create their own story.
Work completed at Catalysto Ltd.

For World Peace Day 2017, 130 designers and illustrators from 75 countries were tasked with creating 'hello' in their national language as part of the Hello Project; 'Hello World'. So here I am repping the emerald isle. The full project is now up on Behance. (PART 1 / PART 2)

I have a great love of Ireland’s natural beauty, so I wanted to create a piece that captured the wildness of Ireland’s land and coast, while bringing in some nods to the country’s rich heritage.

My first attempt at making a font (the easy way). This project was more of a "ah, I'll see how it goes" thing rather that a serious attempt at making a typeface.
